Day 8 My Quest for the Oprah audition

A year ago I met a friend who immediately felt I reminded her of her of Oprah. She had been in the TV business for awhile and wanted us to sit down and brainstorm about some ideas for a reality TV show. We spent many days brainstorming our ideas and now, reflecting back, I can see clearly how those times working together has lead me to where I am today. I am a firm believer of "ordered steps" and I know my steps are ordered and that every person who crosses my path whether I perceive the meeting to be good or not, ultimately is a part of a divine plan. I began to meet more people who wanted to talk to me about TV and questioned if I had ever considered it. As a Life Coach Trainer I feel like I am on stage all the time and I feel very comfortable in that role. Little did I know that when I was approached by my mentor years ago to become a trainer that it would be such a divine fit for me. I actually turned her down at first stating that I did not feel I was qualified to do it but she encouraged me to try. Isn't funny that sometimes other people can see seeds of greatness in you that you cannot see in yourself? My mentor told me that she felt that I had the gifting of Oprah and not to forget her when I get to the top! I won't forget Fern Gorin.

Day #4,5,6,7

Following your dream is not as easy as it seems in the movies. It takes facing your fears of rejection and failure head on! As I said before, I believe that I am destined to do something great and it is beginning to take shape now. It is taking shape because the visions that I see in my dreams when I am asleep and awake, I act on them. You could kind of say that I walk by faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. I knew I couldn't do all of this alone so I asked Darlene the woman that I saw in my dreams to go on this journey with me. She was also free from her corporate job as I was which in itself was a miracle, so she accepted and we began writing the book that had been in my head for years. She came along side of me in January 2010 and within 4 months we were finished. She is an amazing woman and friend and she challenges me to strive for excellence. At the same time, we started our own coach training company where we will train people to be life coaches as I have been doing for years now as a contractor. Our first class is scheduled for July. I received a vision of my coaching model and it challenges people to pursue better lives and attain happiness. I am so proud of the work we have done in the past 5 months. It would have taken me 5 years to accomplish this alone. I wholeheartedly endorse partnering up. We all need the creative energy from people who love us. Darlene and I worked tirelessly toward writing the book and getting the business off the ground. It was like there was something driving us to get all this done now. I know I felt this relentless pursuit to finish that is indescribable but I understand now it is all about positioning. I believe we are uniquely positioned to fly now. As a start up company, funds are a challenge for many people and we were no exception. We are running out of our savings and still have our families to maintain. We have witnessed wonderful miracles where people with the expertise in areas that we need are volunteering, bartering and investing in us to get the job done. I have never seen such an outpouring of love and support before. People are rallying behind the vision and helping us to make it happen. It makes my belief in the vision stronger and clearer than ever before. To be cont'd.

Day #3

On December 2009 I made some huge decisions. I quit my corporate job which I liked for the most part and decided to file for divorce, all to follow my dream. I found that both these entities stifled my creative and spiritual energy and I was feeling a strong "shift" stronger than I have ever felt before towards my vision and passion. This vision gets me up early and keeps me up late. I have seen myself for years speaking, teaching and coaching thousands of people around the world to follow their dreams and my vision has gotten closer and closer in my dream world and my natural world. I am living my dream now and it just gets bigger and bigger.

Day #2 count down to live audition on June 26th for Charmin

Even though I have been told many times about my resemblance to Oprah, it did not really phase me until I came into my forties and really started becoming self aware. It had been several years since I had even watched a show but I have always followed her vicariously through my mother who still to this day watches her religiously. As my own awareness grows, I have a new found respect for how hard Oprah works and all her diverse interests. She also faces adversity at times but triumphs despite it. As I started my practice as a life coach I began asking my clients the tough questions that they need to answer for their own clarity and realized that Oprah is a master at this. As a life coach trainer, it took my career and awareness to a whole new level. I began mentoring people who look up to me and listen to what I have to say and they often admit that they ask themselves "what would Charmin say?" This kind of responsibilty I don't take lightly and over the years, Oprah has risen to the occasion many times knowing that she has a huge influence on her audience. I have been learning this from her. to be cont,d

Counting down to June 26th. Live Audition for OWN TV show in Atlanta

Oprah came into my world in 1982. I was a sophomore in college and everywhere I went people would approach me to tell me that I resembled her. I watched the show daily for years and always felt a connection to her. Do I feel these connections with others that I watch on T.V.? No. Then why her? Twenty years later, two children later, marriage and divorce, I discovered that I had a passion and a natural gift for Life Coaching. I pursued this passion and also became a Life Coach Trainer. As I began training my students one thing that I heard over and over again was how I reminded them of Oprah. They sighted her compassion, her voice and even some of her mannerisms. To be continued...
